At this park, you have the option of taking a boat ride on Pepper Creek before entering the park. When you visit you’ll see animals that are native to Florida, including and apart from the Manatees

Weekiwachee Springs State Park

Not far from Homosassa is Weeki Wachee Springs. This park consists of clean springs that are sure to keep you cool during the hot Florida summer months. You can swim, float in a tube, watch a mermaid show and even kayak in the springs.

Fort Island Gulf Beach

Fort Island Gulf Beach includes a sandy beach, fishing and sightseeing pier, a boardwalk connecting the beach and the pier, and a boat ramp. The site includes bathrooms, outdoor showers, covered picnic tables and a grassy area on the south side of the beach. The Citrus County Boat Ramp here is Free. This launch site provides the boater with access to the Gulf of Mexico and Crystal River.

Now this little diamond is a personal favorite of ours at Manatee Swim Center. Cedar Key is a quaint fishing village with nautical flair everywhere you go. There’s plenty of places to have a bite to eat and shop for yourself or loved ones. Plus there’s a secluded beach if you’re looking for something a little more remote and quiet. Legs getting a little tired? You have the option of renting a golf cart to motor around the village. Stay under the speed limit!!
